Introduction

All Maps Welcome is the website of the practice-led PhD group in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Our site is dedicated to sharing research ideas through visual, audio and textual material. We hope to create a forum for discussing practice-led methods, research topics and training issues with the aim of supporting the growing network of artists and performers undertaking PhD projects in Northeast England.

All Maps Welcome is a student initiative developed by: Jolande Bosch, Kate Craddock, Sachiyo Goda, Paul Harvey, Emma Heather, Mark Hill, Su Lien Hsieh, Christina Kolaiti, John Lavell, David Linton, Andrew McNiven, Hiroko Oshima, Jane Park, Sayed Abdolhadi (Hadi) Shobeirinejad, Alexandra Rowe, Ikuko Tsuchiya, Poyan Yee.

The venture is supported by research training funds from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and so a further role is to generate methodological debate in a wider range of disciplines than those immediately associated with the creative arts.
